Hello from Rancho Palos Verdes, where we have clouds and light rain, refreshing!
This week we walked in the park, while the sun was still shining. The squirrels and park wildlife were entertaining. A little dog, on a leash of course, nearly lost its mind over the ducks.
Being inspired by Gwen Marston's book, Liberated Medallion Quilts, I cut and pieced borders onto the medallion of Yankee Puzzle blocks that I had declared 'done.' Sometimes in designing and piecing a quilt I get to a road block and declaring it done helps me put it away for a while until the creative juices get replenished/renewed.
That Quilt Friends is the news from the rancho where pumpkin patches around town are beginning to take shape. What was it that Linus from Peanuts and the Gang used to get excited about this time of the year? I think it was keeping vigil for the coming of the Great Pumpkin , yes, that was it.
Fall is a wonderful time.
What are your favorite fall past times you look forward to?

I agree that wedding photos would be perfect on the promenade, but I have to say I'd much prefer that gnarly old tree as a backdrop (but that's me!). Will have to see if the local library happens to have a copy of that book - it looks interesting.
Your borders look great! The colors and prints are perfect. The weather still feels very summery where I live.
I love those corners with the stripy fabric . Ysou have the knack of finding exactly the right fabric every time.

The days are getting shorter here and the markets are selling pumpkins, fall is in the air!
Making a series of medallion quilts works so well. I find a series gives me time to make small changes to each and expand my ideas {before I forget them.} Thanks for sharing.
I saw one of those banyan trees on the coast somewhere. Santa Barbara? You could make a house between the roots. But I've read they are very invasive.
Firstly, I do like your lo-o-ong title! Your medallion quilt is looking so good, love the latest borders. And yes, Gwen's book 'Liberated Medallion Quilts' is such a good book, very inspiring. We are heading into summer over here in NZ, the days are getting longer, lots more time to sew, garden, have family bbq's, visit the markets ... I love this time of the year. (before the rush of Xmas!).
