Venice lace added, left. Beads added to chevron stitch, right.
I am taking part in Work in Progress Wednesday at Sharon B's Pintangle http://pintangle.com/wip-wednesdays-faq/. This is my project I'm reporting on. It is a sewing kit and will be available in my Etsy shop, Crazyvictoriana.etsy.com. Sharon has a lot of great ideas. It's fun to see other peoples' projects and progress.
I really like the Venice lace piece I bought in Etsy; Cathyscrazybydesign.

Beads added to the hand embroidery on the pocket.

Small beads added to the french knots.

Crazy quilt, art quilt, vintage sewing notions...

I'm working on a crazy quilt to showcase vintage sewing notions.

I got this vintage half doll and card with hook and eyes from one of my favorite Etsy shops https://www.etsy.com/shop/MissIvyVintage. The half doll was made to be used as a decorative element on a pin cushion or what have you.

Napa Valley for Inspiration,

Road trip to Napa Valley yesterday..
Castello di Amorosa, we took the tour

Our road trip to Napa was refreshing and exciting, from agriculture to architecture, magnificent. We toured the Castello di Amorosa, a reproduction of a medieval castle surrounded by 30 acres of vineyards. It is located in Calistoga, Ca, north of St. Helena and Napa.I highly recommend the tour, castellodiamorosa.com.

Beautiful vineyards in spring

Modern Style Quilt, hand and machine quilted 2014

I used batiks from my collection
I saw these blocks in a quilt but much smaller. I worked out the bigger size I wanted and cut them out and pieced them together. There is no border. I machine quilted and hand quilted it for the effect. Ripple, sparkle, textured.
Two blocks make up this quilt

I used two different shades of white for the effect

I call it Garnet Beach

"Elderberry Wine" sewing clutch, published 2013...

"Elderberry Wine" sewing kit or clutch

I still can't decide whether to call this a sewing clutch or kit. I made this crazy quilt style. It is quilted and embellished with YO-YO's, hand embroidery, laces, velvet ribbon, sewing notions and a vintage
silver and garnet jewelery piece. It was published in Art Quilting Studio winter 2013, artquiltingstudio.com.
roomy pocket, needle felted pin keep

Art Quilt in Progress..border choice

Love those tropical colors.
This is one of my new art quilts in progress. I'm going to add one more border, interviewing colors now. What do you think?
I am liking the lime a lot.
This is a fun technique; make strip fabric by sewing together varying widths of scraps or yardage. Cut into blocks, square or rectangle, add sashing if you want and various borders. The best results come with lots of contrast in color and print. Layer top with batting and backing and machine quilt it to death. Embellish with hand embroidery.
There are some Kaffe Facet fabrics in this.
