This is where I work on projects.
Quilt News from the PacNW where the winter cold and gray pretty much dominate. Hello Quilt Friends!
I've started a new project because I needed something small and portable and I haven't worked on anything with embroidery or crazy quilting for way too long! My new project is going to be a Stitch Book with stitch sample pages and decorative crazy quilt pages.
You might be wondering where my inspiration is from and I'm glad you asked! Because my ideas and inspiration are from several different artists, each with their own style and unique personality. I'm very glad we're, as embroiderers and quilters, each so different because that is where the excitement and wonder come in to make creating such a fun experience.
Here are several links where I get my inspiration and encouragement; make sure and visit! Carin @ https://queeniepatch.blogspot.com Sara or Rachael @ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jDkKYdsXSsY&t=1188s Ariane @ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g0NFDlUUYK4
And the Color Infusion for February is gray. Gray is a neutral color between black and white. when added to lighter colors it calms and reduces brightness. When added to darker colors it lifts and opens.
A new project is being started and I'm remembering to be thankful! And that quilt friends is the quilt news. I'll be by to visit!

Grey is a beautiful colour, maybe not exciting and vibrant, but elegant and calm. It is interesting to see the gradation of various shades of grey in the photographs, e.g. the landscape in the distance is beautifully light and dim, and the objects in the front have a clearer graphite grey shade.
ReplyDeleteI am so happy to see your new project with embroidery and crazy quilting. As you know I love hand embroidery stitches and what we can do with them. You have a grand collection there and I especially like the stitch lines where you have incorporated Lazy Daisy flowers along the line.
Keep up the good work!
I'm interested to follow the links you shared about your inspiration. Meanwhile, admiring your embroidery book!

ReplyDeleteThanks for the links - I had only come across one of these artists before,so it was fun to see what the others are doing and to see if I can spot their influence on your work. That lifeguard station is a really cool little building.
