from the rancho where we have sun and warm temperatures.
This morning while we were enjoying the beach, someone dropped off treats for the seagulls and ravens on the sidewalk, a riot of feeding birds ensued. Everyone walked around them. The birds had the sidewalk cleaned up in a matter of minutes. It was quite a show.
My color calendar color of the month for February is pink and the RSC color challenge for this month is orange. I think the two go together well so I decided to join in the RSC orange challenge for fun. Color is so worth it!
Julierose pieced together some tiny Hour Glass Blocks, the squares she started with were 2.5" I believe. Visit her blog to see them. And yes, they were in oranges.
I caught the bug and made some Hour Glass Blocks in orange but I started with 3.5" squares. My finished Hour Glass Blocks are 2 3/4".
And so quilt friends, the piecing and color fun continues here.

I think orange is an underused and underappreciated color. I look forward to seeing more of your orange.
My grandmother and her friends told me that pink and orange don't go together, but they DO! Maybe it is a generation thing, but I have seen so many examples of bright and colourful quilts that I think any colour can be paired with any colour!

Orange is a colour I always associate with you as you use it so confidently and I love this pairing.
Orange was never a favourite colour of mine but I have to admit that it's growing on me and you're part of the reason for that. My stash doesn't yield much but that's only because it hasn't been something I've gravitated to. Oddly enough I've never been a fan of pink either, unless it's fushia. Even as a little girl I hated baby pink. Having said that, I'm currently embroidering with a lot of pink in my current project.
I never think to use orange except in the Fall but i like seeing everyones orange play
