More beads added... |
embellishments added, |
buttons to add. I found the crocheted pansy at Vintage Vogue
This is the part where I get every thing balanced out, color, texture and composition. The big three must dance together well. I go to my inspiration sources for fresh insight, part of the adventure.
You know something? I'm not real
happy with that purple pansy there. It's just not right. What do you think?
Hand embroidery, french knots and feather stitch..... |
Back opened out, you can see the crushed velvet ties. |
I agree - the purple pansy just doesn't seem to 'go'. Perhaps if the colour were toned down to something a little more brownish? A dip in tea or coffee perhaps??
ReplyDeleteTo me, the pansy is OK when the hussif is folded, but looks out of balance if you see it opened. How about adding some decorative stitching in purple on the other side in the opposite corner...
ReplyDeleteI like the pansy. It's very different from everything else around it, but that's one of the things I like about crazy quilting. I think adding more purple somewhere else would be good.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the input. I agree crazy quilting is supposed to be "crazy". I can get fixated on one point sometimes.
