Yes, today I got some house work done. |
'Heritage Quilts' came in the mail, great colors and blocks. |
Charity quilt for my local quilt guild, I sewed down the binding today. |
Happy Friday!!!
California Rolls and Buffalo Blue Kettle Chips anyone?
We must celebrate you know!
What do you do for fun food for Friday?
I got house work done in the morning and I finished the little blanket for charity for my quilt guild in the afternoon. We are a nonprofit so we give quilts away to those in need. What is more comforting than a quilt anyway?
Oh, the embroidery on the kitchen towel is mine. I learned to embroider on kitchen towels and I still enjoy doing that from time to time. It takes me back to a quieter more gentle time.
Kaffe Fassett's book, 'Heritage Quilts' published by Taunton Press, came in the mail and I've been reading it and loving the colors and block arrangements. Tons of inspiration! When I put my feet up this evening I'll be reading and ohhhhing and ahhhing over the pictures.
Hope your Friday was good and enjoy your weekend!!!!
It's already Saturday in Japan! Sometimes after work on Friday, I go out for sushi and a beer. Nice way to end the work week and no after supper kitchen to clean up at home. I agree that a Kaffe Fassette book has tons of inspiration and is great to look at.
ReplyDeleteThat's right you are a day ahead in Japan. Sushi and a beer, good choice.
DeleteFriday is only one of seven days of housework - it has to be done every day, sigh! For fun, on Friday, or any day, there is sewing, even if it only is for a few minutes.
ReplyDeleteYour kitchen towel is really charming. In Sweden it is more common to only add initials on the tea towels.
KF books are always full of colourful photographs and I am sure you enjoyed the eye candy.
You, too, have a great weekend.
Thanks for stopping by, Queenie. Initials on tea towels is a good idea.
DeleteI'm a day behind so it's now Saturday. We always have a family breakfast at a local restaurant, did some errands and then I got to stitch. I'll have to watch for that Kaffe Fassett book at the library....looks like a fun one.
ReplyDeletehow lovely that you give these quilts away Janie...you are right, there's nothing as comforting as a quilt and a hand made one is extra special.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Karen, for stopping by, beautiful design going on over at your blog..http://karenannruane.typepad.com/.
