Your welcome to coffee, Gorgonzola crackers and my home made plum jam. |
Penny's Piece O' Cake quilt finished! |
Lily's Piece O' Cake quilt finished! |
What's Up Thursday!!!!
Come on over for coffee and my plum jam on Gorgonzola flavored crackers, yum. We'll talk and stitch and try not to get jam on our projects, how's that!
I've finished my two 'Piece O' Cake quilts, took me forever, but I've loved having them around because they're so bright and cheerful. Just like my two grand daughters. Soon they'll be in the mail.
Kaffe Fassett has an exhibition at San Jose Quilt Museum !
Some of his new quilts and some historical quilts are in the show, called 'Blanket Statements.' If you're in the area stop to see it. Kaffe has done so much for the fabric/design world with his wonderful way with color. I also bought his new book, Heritage Quilts . I believe it has all, maybe more, of his new quilts in the show.
I don't have time to get over to San Jose for the exhibition, so the book is the next best thing.
I'm linking up with, Fret Not Yourself, Sew Slowly AHIQ .
My two 'Piece O' Cakes' were improvised around the blocks.
Have a wonderful 4th of July weekend, Bar-B-Que anyone?!!
No BBQ during the rainy season here, I guess, but I wouldn't mind some of that home made plum jam.
ReplyDeleteIt is easy to understand that you are a fan of KF and his colourful designs. Pity you wont' be able to go to the show.
The two Piece O' Cake quilts look great on the wall, are you sure you want to part with them??!!
Thank you, Queenie. I'm ready to get them mailed off, I've had them in my are for long enough, time to share!
DeleteSo happy to see these two finished: they are so vibrant and cheerful it makes me want to go and haul out some orange fabric right now! Your green plate is gorgeous - I love how your photos always echo the colours in your quilting.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Kaja, and thanks for stopping by with encouraging words.
DeleteBeautiful finishes! Year before last I went to the Kaffe Fassett exhibit at the American Museum in Bath when I was there for the Bath Summer Textile School. I know you would have loved it!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Pamela.
DeleteWhat a fun opportunity, to visit Kaffe's exhibit at the Bath Summer Textile School. I think you're right, I would have loved it.
Janie, Here's a link to my photos from that exhibit - http://hokkaidokudasai.blogspot.jp/2014/09/kaffee-fassett-at-american-museum-in.html
DeleteIt didn't turn into a link, but maybe you can copy and paste. Sorry.
DeleteOh goodie - coffee, biscuits and homemade jam! What could be better? Oh yes - seeing your quilts in person!!
ReplyDeleteI've never had crackers with jam. I just made some wild black raspberry jam so might have to give crackers and jam a try. Those quilts look as yummy as the jam! Wish I was in San Jose or even near there.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Cathy. Wild blackberry jam is so good! They are just getting ripe around here, that's my next jam 'project.'
