Barn Raising Red quilt

Barn Raising Red, approx. 21"x21"

This small quilt is made of log cabin blocks in the pattern barn raising. The prints are small with a lot of calicoes. I designed and pieced it and hand quilted it. It is laying on another quilt, the red and black check binding defines its dimensions. I really like the log cabin block because of the many fascinating patterns possible. Using complimentary colors makes it striking.

Back view, I wanted to use a few of the beautiful calicoes.

This is great! I like the log cabin pattern, although I haven't done much with it. Maybe this will inspire me to try something out soon

Log cabin and Grandmothers' Flower Garden are my favourite patterns and if ever I do a 'sane' quilt, it would be one of those I would choose. Your quilt looks so nice and cheery!

Thanks! Crazy Quilting is a little insane isn't it, but in a good way. Maybe more like free spirited.
