Christmas ornament, strawberry, wine colored

Strawberry, silk rouleaux ribbon, jewelery finding..

Hand embroidered feather stitch, tag with 'Merci' on it ...

Another ornament I finished. It is made of wine colored  damask upholstery fabric. I think these ornaments can be used in any kind of decor arrangement really, not just Christmas.
Make sure to check in at Sharon B's Pintangle to see other work in progress by other artists.
Speaking of Christmas ornaments, check out this super fun idea here, Tresors de Luxe Lace .

crazy quilt sewing bag, embellishing..

Pink pom-poms, what else??
I made this sewing bag from a crazy quilt I made just for this purpose.
I was able to get 3 sewing bags from it and about three pin cushions.
The pink pom-poms are so delicious. I will add some hand embroidery
next. Is there life without embellishment? I don't think so. I have seen
people who try to pretend there is no embellishment, as if it were a bad
word or something. I watch them and I secretly add to and embellish
every thing they are wearing and saying. Try it sometime.

Barn Raising Red quilt

Barn Raising Red, approx. 21"x21"

This small quilt is made of log cabin blocks in the pattern barn raising. The prints are small with a lot of calicoes. I designed and pieced it and hand quilted it. It is laying on another quilt, the red and black check binding defines its dimensions. I really like the log cabin block because of the many fascinating patterns possible. Using complimentary colors makes it striking.

Back view, I wanted to use a few of the beautiful calicoes.
