Homestead Quilt Shop, West Coast Road Trip, Volcanos

Lake Natoma Inn, Folsom CA. We stayed here over night.

We visited here, while we stayed in Redding, CA.

Oroville Dam, from the visitor center look out tower.

Mt. Shasta, CA one of many volcanoes we saw on our road trip.

Beautiful area and remote.

Homestead Quilts and Fabric, La Pine, Oregon.

Inside, Homestead Quilts, does this look fun or what?

Hello! from, 'Where am I anyway?'
Oh, I know, Renton, WA.
Last week my husband and I took off on a road trip up the west coast, leaving Rancho Palos Verdes; LA, avoiding the big highways when possible, to visit our #2 son and his wife to help with their baby and move into their new house.

We drove to Folsom, CA on hwy 99 the first day, it felt good to be in our home town. We visited relatives and then drove onto Redding, CA the next day and took time to visit the Oroville Dam. The Oroville dam repairs and California Department of Resources updates are one of my hobby/interests.

The next day we drove through the Grass Lake, CA area and got gorgeous views of Mt. Shasta.
We turned off I-5 at Weed, CA and drove north into central Oregon on hwy 97, coming to La Pine, Oregon. Of course I had to stop at the local quilt shop, Homestead Quilts, link above. It was full of great fabric and inspiration!

I'll share more of our adventure and photos soon. Now I've got to help out and find the nearest quilt shop, quick!!

Have a wonderful day! I'll be by to visit soon.
When life gives you lemons bust out the tequila or is it the quilt fabric? I think it's quilt fabric, hmmmm,
what do you think?

  1. My vote is for busting out the fabric too - don't like tequila, so it's a no-brainer for me. Enjoy lots of baby snuggles while you're there.

  5. When life gives you lemons, make lemonade. When life gives you scraps, make scrappy quilts. Tequila doesn't go with babies or quilting! Nice view on your route.

  6. How lovely. I haven't been up that direction in a long while and never stopped at any quilt shops. Best wishes for a new grand baby.
