Robert Kaufman Kona Cotton, Pink Flamingo, Color of the Year 2017

http://www.robertkaufman.com/release/2017/konacoty/

Kona Cotton Color of the year, Pink Flamingo!
Am I going to have fun with this color or what??
If you love pink like I do, this is reason to celebrate.

I bought the class from iquilt  'Abstract Quilts in Solids' by Gwen Marston. Pink Flamingo
will make great contrast in my projects I'm working on for this course.
I highly recommend this and Gwen's other class offered by iquilt,, 'Liberated Quilt Making II'.

Have a relaxing weekend!! I'll be by to visit!

  2. I will indeed, Queenie. You've worked up great geometric stitches this week!

  3. As a fellow 'pink' lover, I will have to check out that kona colour. I wrote a post recently about getting out of neutrals now that I am old...now I shall wear pinks, if I feel like it. We have lots of the tiger swallow tails here in summer months. I like how they stay on flowers a long time and you can get a good photo. I have a butterfly quilt on my to do list. Happy Stitching to you!

    1. The tiger swallowtails around here don't hold still for me. We just got a lot of rain too, so I think they left for for a while.
I don't ever wear all pink, or all any one color. Mix it up is the thing.

  4. I'm not a huge pink fan - especially baby pink. I like the deep saturated versions though. Even when I was little I was never a 'girly-girl'. For one of my birthdays when I was about 12 I remember my grandma and grandpa getting me identical dresses - one pink and one blue. My grandmother wanted the pink one and grandpa knew me well enough to know that I'd hate it. He was right.

    1. I do understand that completely. Too much of a good thing, not so good.
Pink is a tint of red, I'm sure you know that, and as such can be contrasted with the compliment of red and blend in surprisingly well, behaving itself and making a 'group' effort instead of obnoxiously showboating.
      Color is fun!
