Wasabi art quilts, Stacks of Coins Quilt Along and coffee.

'Wasabi #2' made with left over pieces from 'Wasabi #1, see below.
'Wasabi #1' small art quilt, my design.
Stacks of 'coins' for coin challenge.

My sewing station here in Rancho Palo Verdes.
Checking progress on my 'design' wall.

Happy Weekend!!!

What do you have planned for fun?
A trip to the fabric store? A walk in the park or on the beach?
Taking the kids to gymnastics class?
Endless possibilities!

I've been sewing on a Jem Platinum 760 Jenome Machine. It does everything I need it to.
I've put together a small art quilt, 'Wasabi #2' from pieces left over from 'Wasabi #1. I like to name my quilts. It reminds of the thinking behind the plan and design.

I've also started my new 'coin' quilt, yes, it's going to be small too. Kaja @ SewSlowly
and Ann @ Fret not Yourself ,
have started a Chinese Coin Quilt challenge. Another reason to play with color.

And talking about small quilts I've been inspired by reading through Sew Charming by M. Etherington & C. Tesene.
It's a book full of great small quilt ideas. It's published by That Patchwork Place .

Have a great day, I'll be by to visit and enjoy your projects.
I'll stop by Starbucks, what kind of coffee would you like?

flat white for me please.....I drink it black at home but when I'm out I like to be a rebel!! Lovely images today Janie. I did a search on google maps for the place in the sewing station image. I guess it's a lot warmer there than it is here. Have a fabulous weekend x

I'll have today's drip, please!
No, sorry I have to work, do daily chores, do the nursing and then introduce a new stitch on Sunday Stitch School.
I love wasabi #2, it has a lot of peppery wasabi green in it. Lovely!

I like how you made the second Wasabi from leftovers of the first. And the coins are coming along great. I have been working with multicolored leftovers but think I need to organize some colors as you are doing.

I like your coins a lot - you have such a sure sense of colour. Using scraps from one quilt to make another is a good way to keep things under control!

Beautiful colorful projects! I have a basic model Janome and I'm very happy with it. Starbucks is popular here in Japan also. I like a mocha frappachino, aka liquid candy, but don't have one often because of the kcalories!

Thanks, Karen. Rebel indeed!
Warmer here, maybe, I think it's relative to what a person gets used to.
Your designs are delightful.

You are busy! Hope you get everything done and I'll be by
to enjoy your Sunday Stitch School project.

Thanks Ann, I like to let ideas progress and become something new.
The coin challenge is a good idea.

Hi Pamela, thank you.
Yes, those mocha frappachinos are liquid candy.
Happy Monday!

Nice Wasabi quilts, and your Coins piece is coming along a treat. I seem to be sufferent from "quilters' block" with my Chinese Coins.

Janie, you seem to be a color junkie like me, can't get enough of it. Your Wasabis are both bold and fun. Your coins are nice with the blues, you know how to use them. Good luck!

I'm so glad you are making a Coins quilt and linked it with AHIQ. You mix prints and solids so well, something I need to try. Thanks for the inspiration.

Thanks, Paula, I appreciate your input and I love your work!

I like the sparks of yellow and orange in your coins. Guess since your coins quilt will be small you can call it "small change". And I'll have a caramel macchiato! (I haven't been to Starbucks in ages!!!)
