Tropical Art Quilt #3 done...Hand quilted and Embellished

Close-up, hand quilted, hand embroidered, running and cross stitch...

Tropical art quilt #3 in a series finished! It took awhile because of the hand quilting and hand embroidery. It measures approx. 26" x 23".
Hand quilting with three strands of embroidery thread can be challenging but with a will there is often a way.
Happy Monday!

That sounds like a drink I might like! Love the tropical colours and how you use your embroidery. Looking at the back (I blew it up) it seems like your cross stitches go all the way through your layers but some of the other stitching is only on the top. Is that right or do they all function as quilting and embellishment?

Hi Kaja, the hand quilting goes all the way through, the running and cross stitches are embellishment only.

Kaja,in my quilt, Citrus Rose, I'm hand quilting it with running stitch, 3 strands of embroidery thread, all the way through the three layers. I'm not done with that one yet.

Thank you, Pamela.

How interesting to see such tropical colors combined in a traditional setting. I like the mix of precision and free-hand work, too. Congratulaitons on a beautiful finish.

At the risk of sounding like a repeating record, I do so love your use of colour!!
